Inaugural Undergraduate Research in the Arts program set Friday at ISE Lab

12:59 p.m., May 5, 2014--The inaugural University of Delaware Undergraduate Research in the Arts program will be held Friday, May 9, from 2-5 p.m., on the first floor of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory (ISE Lab).

Students will present works of sculpture, painting and choreography created during the 2014 academic year, and many of the works will have a connection to science.

Chronic wounds

UD's Millicent Sullivan and Kristi Kiick have received a $1.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research that could provide a new approach to the treatment of chronic wounds.

Prof. Heck's legacy

The American Chemical Society is highlighting the legacy of the late Nobel laureate Richard Heck, the Willis F. Harrington Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Delaware with a digital tribute on its publications website.

Deborah Hansen, a UD alumna and education associate in visual and performing arts for the Delaware Department of Education, will give the opening remarks.

A reception will follow the students’ presentations. The event is free and open to the public.
