2:04 p.m., March 18, 2014--The University of Delaware has partnered with the state of Delaware Attorney General’s Office, Prevent Child Abuse Delaware and the YMCA to offer a training program to members of the University community.
The program “Stewards of Children” is a seminar that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

One in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before the age of 18, yet only one in 10 abused children reaches out for help.
“We need your commitment to this issue,” a program representative said. “Our children need our help. They can be empowered with awareness and choice, but the real responsibility for protecting our children must be shouldered by adults.”
The University supports this training by offering employees on-site, facilitator-led sessions.
The sessions are approximately three hours in length and will take place in 413 Academy Street, Room 261, on the following days and times:
March 24 – (1-4 p.m.)
April 23 – (1-4 p.m.)
May 7 – (1-4 p.m.)
May 21 – (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
