Parking

New Gray permit

Similar to the Pearson Lot permit created this past year, the Gray permit will guarantee permit holders a space in the Gray zones: Gray East, which includes lots near the intersection of Wyoming Road and Chapel Street (Lots 50, 55, 55N, 55S, 55W, 3, 54, 39) and Gray North, which includes lots near the Carpenter Sports Building (Lots 19, 20 and 67).

Gray permit holders will be eligible to park in either of the Gray zones.

Pay-to-park rate changes

In order to simplify rate structure and deliver a lower all-day rate, effective July 1, the rates at the pay-to-park locations (Perkins Student Center, Trabant University Center and Roselle Center for the Arts garages, and the Visitors Center) will be:

  • First 15 minutes: Free
  • Over 15 minutes to one hour: $2
  • Over one hour to two hours: $4
  • Over two hours to three hours: $6
  • Over three hours to four hours: $8
  • Over four hours to 24 hours: $10

The permit rates for the upcoming year have been finalized and can be found here.

Permit sales

Online permit sales for 2013-2014 will begin on July 29 for UD employees and Aug. 1 for undergraduate and graduate students. Permits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transportation

New route pilot

In response to feedback received from the UD community, UD has added an East-West Express route on a pilot basis beginning fall semester.

This route will travel East-West on a 30-minute loop from the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (DBI) to the Smith overpass to Studio Green via Wyoming Road-Park Place-Elkton Road during the morning rush between 7-10 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Weekend service expanded

Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 service will begin at noon during fall and spring semesters and mirror the Evening 1 and Evening 2 routes.

Additional bus shelter

A new shelter will be installed on south campus near the UDairy Creamery by the start of the academic year.
