Students can reserve group study rooms through new UD Library service

8:45 a.m., Dec. 3, 2013--The University of Delaware Library has announced the launch of an important new service available to UD students. Beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 3, students can reserve any of the 31 group study rooms in the Morris Library for collaboration or study by two or more students.

Students can go online to this website using any computer, tablet or cell phone with Internet access to access the online reservation site. QR codes posted in each room will also link to the reservation site.

Only UD students can reserve a group study room. Reservations are limited to two hours per day, per group of students, and can be made up to seven days in advance.

While students can use group study rooms on a walk-in basis, students with reservations have priority and may ask those students without a reservation to vacate the room, using their email confirmation as proof of the reservation.

Library group study rooms are for group use, and groups of students may ask any individual in a group study room to vacate the room.

This new reservation service was initiated as part of a large-scale improvement of group study rooms in response to the spring 2013 LibQual library survey.

New furniture, funded by the Unidel Foundation, has been installed in the rooms. Group study rooms, which were painted this fall, have new glass writing surfaces installed.

An online guide to the new group study room reservation service, including policies and procedures, is available online.
