UD alumnus elected president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea

1:18 p.m., Dec. 17, 2013--In-chul Kim, who earned his doctorate in political science from the University of Delaware in 1988, has been named president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, South Korea. 

Kim, 55, received 65 percent of votes by faculty members in the Nov. 22 election, and the school board confirmed the result later that month, according to the university.

He will begin his four-year term from March 2014.

At UD, Kim’s dissertation examined political alienation in rural South Korea, with a focus on socioeconomic analysis.
