Lessons in ice skating, hockey begin in January at UD
1:59 p.m., Dec. 2, 2013--With the Winter Olympics approaching, now is the perfect time to think about brushing up on ice skating and hockey skills through courses at the University of Delaware Ice Arenas.
Registration is now open for winter Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey classes that will begin in January.

Due to the popularity of the Learn to Skate Program, an additional session of classes has been added on Thursday nights. Beginning the week of Jan. 6, classes will be available from 6:35-7:35 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Saturday classes, beginning Jan. 4, will be available from 10:45-11:45 a.m. or 11:50 a.m.-12:50 p.m.
Learn to Play Hockey classes are scheduled from 10:20-11:05 a.m. or 11:15 a.m.-noon, Saturdays, starting Jan. 4.

For UD employees
As a special thank you to the University community, all UD employees who register for a winter class will receive a free admission to a future public skating session. To receive the free public skating pass, you must use University of Delaware email address when registering.
Holiday skating
During the holiday season, UD's Fred Rust Ice Arena will offer additional public skating sessions from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1. The ice will be painted with a "Winter Wonderland" theme, featuring presents, snowflakes and a train painted on the ice surface. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be more than 2,500 lights inside the arena.
