University Museums to host talk by visual communications professor

11:19 a.m., April 10, 2014--University Museums will host an Artist’s Talk by Robyn Phillips-Pendleton, associate professor in the University of Delaware’s Visual Communications Program, at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 17, in 116 Gore Hall.

Phillips-Pendleton has created illustrations for institutions of higher education, children's CD covers, editorial magazines, and publishing companies.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Her work has also been featured in national and international juried exhibitions. 

Most recently, Phillips-Pendleton was sent to Haiti, where she was commissioned to document the U.S. Air Force's humanitarian efforts after the earthquake of 2010 as part of the Air Force Artist Program. 

The Artist’s Talk is being held in conjunction with the University Museums’ “FreshPAINT: African American Art at UD” exhibition, on view through June 28 in the Mechanical Hall Gallery.
