Oct. 5: Roundtable on Teaching

First Friday Roundtable on Teaching to focus on active learning approaches


2:15 p.m., Sept. 20, 2012--The First Friday Roundtable on Teaching, a collaborative University of Delaware program aimed at highlighting varied approaches of teaching, learning and assessment practices, will hold its first event on Friday, Oct. 5.

The roundtable session, titled “Broadening Your Repertoire of Active Learning Approaches,” will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. in 208 Gore Hall.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

During the October event, experienced faculty members will provide hands-on demonstrations for participants to engage in active learning strategies. Twenty-minute sessions include “Bookending the Lecture,” “Concept Mapping” and “Flipping the Classroom.”

New faculty members are encouraged to attend, but all are welcome. Registration can be found online

The fall events are focused on teaching topics identified by new UD faculty while the three spring events will focus broadly on enhancing teaching and improving student learning and assessment.

All but the Dec. 7 session will be held in 208 Gore Hall.

Fall sessions are scheduled Oct. 5 and Nov. 2, with the Dec. 7 session a mini-conference sponsored by Academic Technology Services that will meet from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Spring sessions are scheduled Feb. 8, March 8, April 5 and May 3.
