Carolina poet, author Redmond to present reading at UD
12:22 p.m., Sept. 13, 2012--Poet and author Glenis Redmond will give a reading from 4:30-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, in 206 Kirkbride Hall on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.
Redmond is the poet-in-residence at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in Greenville, S.C., her hometown.

She graduated from Erskine College in Due West, S.C., and completed a master of fine arts degree in poetry at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C.
Redmond is a North Carolina Arts Council literary fellowship recipient and a Kennedy Center teaching artist. Her latest book of poetry is titled Under the Sun.
The reading is sponsored in part by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Experiential Learning and the Department of English.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
Additional readings are planned, with Bharati Mukherjee scheduled at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts, and Jim Daniels at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, in 116 Gore Hall.
