Tech Fair participants can learn about IT services

11:18 a.m., Sept. 17, 2012--The University of Delaware IT Tech Fair, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., offers faculty and staff members the opportunity to learn about existing and emerging technologies.

The event will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center and staff members from IT and other technology related departments on campus will be available to answer questions.

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

The fair will emphasize hands-on technology stations to familiarize participants with technology available for them to use inside and outside the classroom. 

Stations will be set up to demonstrate technologies such as UD Capture, i>clickers, the UD high performance computing cluster, and hosting and virtual servers. 

Many campus units will be present to provide assistance: 

  • IT Academic Technology Services (IT-ATS); 
  • IT Client Support and Services (IT-CS and S); 
  • IT University Media Services (IT-UMS); 
  • IT Web Development (IT-WD); 
  • University Library Student Multimedia Design Center; 
  • University Bookstore; and 
  • UD Online.
