University of Delaware Library offers Scopus workshop Nov. 15

10:07 a.m., Oct. 15, 2012--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop titled “Introduction to Scopus” on Thursday morning, Nov. 15.

Scopus is a multidisciplinary database covering 18,500 peer-reviewed journals from more than 5,000 international publishers. It provides citation information on articles from 1996 to the present and contains 21 million pre-1996 records going back as far as 1823.

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

The Scopus workshop will provide an introductory overview to the database and its features, which include over 130 unique "apps" that can be downloaded to allow researchers to individually customize the database functions for their particular research.

Similarities and differences with the Web of Science database will also be covered.

The workshop will meet from 10-11:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in the Library Instruction Room (116A) on the first floor of Morris Library. Presenter will be Tom Melvin, librarian, Reference and Instructional Services Department.

The workshop is available at no charge and is open to UD faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. Online registration is available.
