UD Collegiate Figure Skating Team earns silver at first competition of season
9:54 a.m., Oct. 16, 2012--The University of Delaware Collegiate Figure Skating Team (UDCFST) took second place at the Liberty University Collegiate Competition, the first competition of the season, on Sunday, Oct. 14, in Lynchburg, Va.
UDCFST scored 100 points overall at Liberty University, defeating one top competitor, Boston University, but falling just short of Dartmouth College, which earned 110 points.

“I am incredibly proud of our team for their accomplishments, great performances and unwavering determination this weekend at Liberty University,” said Julianne DiMura, team president. “We are all very supportive of one another and maintain a level of camaraderie and dedication to the sport that I believe will lead us to continued success throughout the season. Our second place finish at Liberty has given us the motivation to continue to work hard to reach our full potential this year in our pursuit of winning the National Intercollegiate Championships in April.”
The team’s next competition will be at UD on March 16-17, 2013. That competition will determine the teams that qualify for nationals in April.
