While many associate bullying with youth and the schoolyard, reality says that bullying is also an adult concern, according to an OEI representative. Unfortunately, that includes the place adults tend to spend the most time – at work.
Statistics indicate that somewhere between one-third and one-half of the workforce will experience some kind of bullying behavior in the workplace over their lifetime.
Workshop participants will get an understanding of how to recognize behavior that needs to be addressed, and how the behavior differs from harassment or other forms of discrimination.
Studies have also shown that people want to step in or step up, but just are not sure how to do it. Tricks and tactics will be provided to give people confidence to do just that, and learn what UD resources are available when it is best to call for assistance.
Those with questions about the training offerings can contact the Office of Equity and Inclusion at 831-8063. To register for the workshop, visit this link and click on the date of the workshop.
