Newark Police investigate home invasion robbery
5:36 p.m., Nov. 30, 2012--Newark Police are investigating a home invasion style robbery that occurred at an apartment in the 300 block of East Main Street around 11 p .m., Thursday, Nov. 29.
Two apartment residents, a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, were in the apartment with a visiting 21-year-old man when there was a knock at the door. The 21-year-old resident opened the door to a man who asked for the 18-year-old resident by name. When he let the suspect into the apartment, two additional suspects rushed in behind him. The 18-year-old resident briefly struggled with the intruders but stopped when he saw that one of them had a handgun. The suspects ordered the occupants onto a sofa, and one of them ransacked a bedroom in the apartment. The victims reported that the three suspects fled after removing undisclosed property.

The victims, who were not injured, are not UD students and told police they did not know the suspects.
They contacted police approximately 30 minutes after the incident. Officers responded, but the suspects were not located.
The first suspect is described at a short man with a cornrow-style haircut, eyeglasses and a light patch of skin between his eyebrows. He was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as wearing a dark gray or black hooded sweatshirt, and the third suspect, who was armed with a revolver, is described as wearing a dark gray or black hooded sweatshirt, with the sweatshirt drawn tightly around his face.
