Association for Global Business Research issues call for papers

1:34 p.m., Nov. 30, 2012--The Association for Global Business Research (AGBR) has announced -- in collaboration with the University of Delaware’s Office of the Provost and Institute for Global Studies, and the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics Office of the Dean and Department of Business Administration -- its inaugural Global Business Conference, to be held July 2-4, 2013, on UD’s Newark campus.

A non-profit organization incorporated in Delaware, the AGBR aims to share and disseminate state-of-the-art developments in research related to all aspects of global business among academics, business practitioners and public policy makers.

Global Stories

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

In an effort to encourage research on the theory and practice of global business and facilitate the synergistic exchange of ideas, AGBR invites interested parties to submit full-length competitive papers, work-in-progress papers or special/panel session papers for presentation at the conference.

Papers must have a global orientation or deal with global issues related to the functional areas of business (e.g., accounting, economics, finance); service businesses (e.g., banking, information technology, education); or related disciplines (e.g., communication, political science, psychology).

Submissions should be sent to Dana Lascu via the AGBR website or via email

The deadline for submission is Jan. 31, 2013.

All papers, case studies and proposals will undergo a double blind review process; full-length competitive papers and case studies selected for presentation at the Global Business Conference will be published in the conference proceedings, Global Business Frontiers, Volume 1.

For complete details, access the AGBR Call for Papers online.

The AGBR was founded by Ajay Manrai and Lalita Manrai, professors of marketing in UD’s Lerner College, in order to provide an outlet for the study of the inter-functional, interdisciplinary and inter-institutional forces shaping the developments in global business today.
