University's annual Benefits and Wellness Fair draws more than 1,500

8:04 a.m., May 31, 2013--More than 1,500 University of Delaware employees attended the annual Benefits and Wellness Fair on May 14 at the Trabant University Center.

This year's fair included representatives of more than 48 benefits providers and non-profit organizations who offered useful information and contributed to an array of door prizes.

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

The theme of this year’s event was overall wellness, and employees were able to sample healthy smoothies and learn about the benefits of biking to work.

In addition, employees were able to experience an Interactive Area with demonstrations of stability chairs and treadmill desks, among other items.

Employees also participated in the Screening Zone, which provided screenings for vision, bone density, blood pressure and diabetes.
