Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

The lunch will feature an assortment of hoagies, chicken nuggets, tossed garden salad, macaroni and cheese, popcorn, cookies, snow cones, and the winning UDairy Creamery Dela-bration ice cream flavor, which will be unveiled by Harker at the event.

Entertainment will include face painting, dance demonstrations, balloon and juggling artists, a photo booth, moon bounce, arts and crafts, and opportunities to take pictures with UD mascots YoUDee and Baby Blue on the red carpet.

After the lunch, guests can hear Harker speak at Mitchell Hall on a variety of topics about and affecting the University, including major accomplishments of the past academic year, opportunities for prominence, and his vision for the future.

Harker will also share with the audience the success of recent UD graduates, new leadership in the University’s colleges and administrative units, and new initiatives and partnerships advancing the University’s education, research, outreach, diversity and economic development goals.
