4:13 p.m., March 11, 2013--University of Delaware Parking Services recently completed a review of responses from a parking survey taken by the UD community. Richard Rind, parking and transportation services director, says that all suggestions and ideas are being considered, with several likely to be implemented in the near future.

However, Rind says, many of the survey responses his department saw suggested policies and procedures that already exist.

Did you know?

  • Valid UD permits are honored in any unrestricted lot regardless of color after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Similarly, any valid permit allows parking in Service Vehicle spaces (except ones labeled “24 hours”) after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Drivers with a valid UD permit who would like after-hours access to gated lots should contact Parking Services to have that access set up.
  • Parking Services offers a permit that is valid only on nights and weekends (after 5 p.m., all day on weekends and holidays). This permit was implemented during the fall semester based on a suggestion from staff and has been well received.
  • Pearson, Central Gate and Perkins Garage permit-holders are given Gold parking privileges along with primary lot privileges. This enables these parkers to drive to meetings on the outskirts of campus without having to feed a meter or buy additional permits.
  • UD parking garages (Perkins Student Center, Roselle Center for the Arts, Trabant University Center) are rarely full. Drivers can usually go straight to the roof level to find plenty of space and fresh air on almost any day.
