11:33 a.m., March 21, 2013--As part of a 90-day pilot program, University of Delaware Parking Services now offers credit/debit card-enabled meters at select locations across campus.

The display screen on the meters provides easy to follow instructions and rate information. For parkers who choose not to use credit/debit cards, quarters and PayByPhone payments will continue to be accepted at all UD meters.

Richard Rind, director of UD Parking and Transportation Services, says the pilot was implemented based on feedback from the recent parking survey and will continue through the rest of spring semester.

If successful, Rind says his department hopes to extend the program to include all parking meters on campus beginning this fall.

The new meters are provided by IPS Group Inc.
