Global Scholars Awards provide full-time faculty or faculty teams with up to $10,000 for global research and scholarship related to one of these six themes: Food and Nutrition; Energy and Infrastructure; Human Security and Governance; Arts and Culture; Global Health; and Education and Engagement.
“This initiative of the Institute for Global Studies is designed to support UD faculty in their pursuit of research and scholarship abroad in critically important interdisciplinary areas,” says Nancy Guerra, associate provost for international programs. “We look forward to receiving proposals from faculty across campus.”
Preference will be given to faculty who have not received awards from IGS previously. An investigator will not be considered for a second or later award unless at least three years have elapsed since the most recent award.
Global Scholars Award recipients will be required to attend two Global Scholars meetings hosted by IGS; present the results of their scholarly inquiry at a University-wide colloquium; and write a brief four-to-five-page synopsis of the project to be published on the IGS website as part of a new, IGS-supported Global Working Papers Series.
