Institute for Global Studies sets Fulbright Scholar information sessions
7:55 a.m., March 5, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Institute for Global Studies (IGS) will host Fulbright Scholar information sessions on Monday, April 8, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and Tuesday, April 9, from 10-11 a.m., in the IGS conference room in Elliott Hall.
“Because Fulbright applications have increased nationwide, each information session will focus on writing an innovative, competitive application that fits the award to increase the likelihood of selection,” said Amy Johnson, IGS faculty fellow and director of global exchange.

The core Fulbright Scholar Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, sends approximately 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year as educational and cultural ambassadors in over 125 countries.
According to Johnson, there are 558 Fulbright Core opportunities, plus Fulbright specialist programs, available for faculty application in 2014-15. Applications are due to the Fulbright program by Aug. 1.
Since its establishment in 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 300,000 participants with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.
