The journal, to be released quarterly in both print and online formats, will include various discussion topics in the diverse subfields of philosophy as well as contribute to the discipline’s continued growth and global impact.
“Our new journal will publish articles of the highest quality and from across the philosophical spectrum,” says Michael Bratman, APA board of officers chair. “I anticipate that it will make a major contribution to important philosophical research and scholarship over these coming years.”
APA’s national office has been located on the UD campus since 1975.
APA remains active as one of the largest philosophical societies in the world with over 10,000 members and 90 affiliated groups.
Enhanced by collaboration from Cambridge University Press, the Journal of the American Philosophical Association will further extend APA’s efforts and overall success within the field.
“Cambridge is one of the foremost academic publishers in philosophy and APA is the discipline’s premier learned society,” says Simon Ross, managing director of Cambridge Journals. “Together we have an unrivalled opportunity to establish an important new international forum for broad-spectrum philosophical research.”
