9:04 a.m., July 9, 2012--Starting in September, the University of Delaware’s Project Management Certificate program will offer a section in Dover, at the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue.

One of UD’s most popular professional development certificates, the program continues to be offered each semester at the UD’s Downtown Center at 8th and King Streets, Wilmington.

Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Demand for project management training has been increasing steadily at UD, with three full sections graduating this past spring.

The Project Management Institute, which administers project manager credentialing, says that approximately 1.2 million new project management jobs will be created each year for the next 10 years. “Part of the growth is fueled by the generation of baby boomers reaching retirement, as well as by companies vigorously emphasizing efficiency in the post-recession economy,” explains a recent U.S. News and World Report article.

UD's Division of Professional and Continuing Studies is a Registered Education Provider (REP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI). Successful completion of UD’s program meets educational requirements for the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential.

For more information about PMI credentialing, or about UD’s Project Management Certificate, visit this website.

An information session for the Project Management Certificate will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at the Doubletree Hotel, 700 N. King St., Wilmington. Attendees can learn about the program, meet instructors and UD program staff and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Other certificates featured at the information session include Business Analyst, Clinical Trials Management, Financial Planning, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Paralegal. Graduates from several certificate programs will be on hand, and refreshments will be served.

The information session is free, but reservations should be made by calling 302-831-7600 or visiting the division's certificate program information website.
