Library offers 'Introduction to Film and Video Collection' workshop
10 a.m., Jan. 31, 2013--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop titled “Introduction to Film and Video Collection Resources” in February.
The workshop, which will be offered Feb. 19 and again Feb. 25, will focus on film and video resources and services related to classroom instructional support and research.

The workshop will provide an overview of film and video resources and services available at the University of Delaware Library. The following questions will be addressed within this workshop: How can more media be incorporated into teaching? What films and videos are available for class viewing? How can videos be checked out and scheduled for future use in my class?
The session will begin with a tour of the Film and Video Collection Department facilities, which include viewing carrels, a Viewing Room and a Media Research Room.
Participants will be shown how to search the collection in DELCAT and WorldCat Local and how to access streaming video databases. They will be given an online tour of the Film and Video website.
This session does not cover services and resources offered by the Student Multimedia Design Center.
The Tuesday, Feb. 19, session will meet from 2-3 p.m. in the Film and Video Collection Department on the lower level of the Morris Library. The presenter will be Meghann Matwichuk, associate librarian, Film and Video Collection Department.
The Monday, Feb. 25, session will meet from 9-10 a.m., also in the Film and Video Collection Department on the lower level of the Morris Library. Matwichuk will be the presenter for this session, as well.
The workshop sessions are available at no charge and are open to UD faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. Registration is available online.
