Information Technologies hosts third UnConference for UD tech staff
3:12 p.m., Jan. 17, 2013--University of Delaware Information Technologies (IT) will host an IT Professionals UnConference from 8:30 to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in several rooms on the first floor of Gore Hall.
The event is open to any UD staff who would benefit from discussing technology issues with colleagues from IT or other campus departments. A light breakfast will be included; therefore, registration is recommended.

An unconference is a collaborative meeting with an open agenda: participants propose topics, vote on the topics to be discussed during the event’s breakout sessions, then lead and contribute to the discussions.
Topics proposed so far for the Jan. 23 unconference include:
- New NTFS Windows domain file service;
- Office 2013 and Office 365;
- Canvas (learning management system);
- Cloud usage guidelines;
- Google Analytics;
- Checking systems for PII (Personally Identifiable Information);
- Authentication/certificates;
- Making maps on the web;
- Tablets, iPads and mobile devices, e.g. Surface overview, Android Jelly Bean;
- UD licensed software;
- Evernote; and
- Windows 8.

Those who are interested in attending can nominate and vote on discussion topics ahead of time, or nominate and vote for topics at the event itself.
