1:24 p.m., Jan. 15, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies has announced that 185 students earned professional development certificates through programs offered in 2012.
Of these certificate graduates, 21 percent were UD alumni who took advantage of the registration discount available to UD graduates. Another 9 percent received scholarships from the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies to help underwrite the cost of their continuing professional education, including the division’s new Economic Competitiveness for Delawareans scholarship.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.
Doctoral hooding
It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.
In addition, 12 percent were UD employees taking advantage of the University’s fee waiver benefit to enroll in certificate programs offered through Professional and Continuing Studies.
Spring 2013 professional development certificates begin in February. Those interested are invited to attend an information session on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m., at the Doubletree Hotel in Wilmington.
Certificate programs presented at the information session will be: Business Analyst, Clinical Trials Management, Financial Planning, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Optimizing Big Data, Paralegal, Advanced Paralegal, and Project Management.
