University Student Centers celebrate students' heritage

8:29 a.m., Feb. 4, 2013--The University Student Centers’ annual international flag display, initiated in 2009, has been updated for 2013.

The display illustrates the robust diversity of the campus community and supports the University of Delaware’s commitment to Global Citizenship.

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

According to the Registrar’s Office, UD currently welcomes more than 1,800 international students from 100 countries to campus. 

A full list of the flags on display to honor these individuals in Trabant University Center and Perkins Student Center can be found at the USC flag website.

The USC currently sponsors 37 multicultural student organizations on campus, including 12 culturally based fraternities and sororities. These groups can be found online at the StUDent Central portal.
