Newark Police release photos of suspects in Dec. 1 assault
8 p.m., Dec. 12, 2012--Newark Police have released three surveillance photos of the two suspects in the Dec. 1 strong arm robbery of a female University of Delaware graduate student on North College Avenue.
In the incident, the woman was walking on the sidewalk when she was approached by two men who punched her, knocked her to the ground and continued to punch and kick her before fleeing with her purse. The suspects were last seen fleeing eastbound across North College Avenue toward the railroad tracks.

Newark Police and UD Police officers responded to the scene with a K9 team from New Castle County Police, but the suspects were not located.
According to police, the victim was released from the hospital on Dec. 2 after being treated for a broken orbital lobe, broken nose and facial contusions.
