Newark Police investigate strong-arm robbery of UD graduate student
11:45 a.m., Dec. 1, 2012--Newark Police are investigating the strong-arm robbery of 28-year-old female University of Delaware graduate student that occurred shortly after 5 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, on the sidewalk adjacent to the North College Avenue entrance to the Hollingsworth parking lot.
Two men assaulted the student as she was walking to her car in the parking lot. They took her cellphone and purse and then left the area traveling east on the railroad tracks. No weapons were involved. Newark Police conducted a K9 search of the area with no results.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment.
The suspects are two white men, 19 to 22 years old. The first suspect is described as 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 170-180 pounds and last seen wearing a maroon-colored hoodie with white letters on the front, with the hood up covering a ball cap. He also was wearing dark colored jeans and dark sneakers. The second suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160-180 pounds and last seen wearing a light gray hoodie with the hood up, dark colored jeans and light colored sneakers.
Surveillance video shows the suspects also following two men and another woman, but they did not attempt to harm them.
