Alumni Association seeks nominations for volunteer posts, awards

3:31 p.m., Dec. 5, 2012--The University of Delaware Alumni Association is accepting nominations for several alumni volunteer positions and awards, as well as several student awards.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

Nominations are now being accepted until Jan. 25 for the UD Alumni Association Board of Directors. New members will begin four-year terms on July 1, 2013. Outstanding professional and public service achievements by UD graduates are recognized with the Alumni Wall of Fame Award. Recipients are honored at a ceremony and reception held during Alumni Weekend. Connection to UD and giving history are considered. Deadline for nominations is Jan. 25. Student nominations

The Emalea Pusey Warner and Alexander J. Taylor Sr. Awards annually honor an outstanding woman and man, respectively, of the senior class. Recipients are awarded $2,500, are recognized at a luncheon and lead the alumni delegates procession at Commencement. Nominees must demonstrate outstanding academic success, community service and leadership and must have a 3.0 or better cumulative index. Deadline for nominations is Feb. 18. The Milton L. Draper Award provides one or two $2,000 scholarships each year to a sophomore or junior for exhibiting outstanding performance in fostering student - alumni interaction. The recipient must exemplify Mr. Draper's characteristics of leadership, dedication and enthusiasm for the University. Deadline for nominations is Feb. 18.
