Newark eliminates non-resident parking on Winslow, Sunset roads

4:35 p.m., Aug. 29, 2012--This summer Newark City Council passed two ordinances prohibiting parking by non-residents on Winslow Road and Sunset Road between South College Avenue and Orchard Road. 

Effectively immediately, all vehicles parking on those streets must have a valid resident parking permit issued through the city of Newark displayed at all times. Violators will be ticketed and subject to fines from the city.

For those members of the University of Delaware community who need to park on-campus in the vicinity, University meters with the paybyphone option are available in Lots 33 and 34 south of the Morris Library as well as the Visitors Center gated lot at the corner of South College Avenue and Winslow Road.
