Event parking options
Parking Services announces new structure, options for on-campus event parking
9:14 a.m., Aug. 1, 2012--While University of Delaware Parking Services has been able to accommodate parking for events hosted on-campus, a more uniform system is being implemented beginning Sept. 1.
Parking garages can continue to be utilized for campus visitors and events. The new event parking fees will be for departments holding events on-campus that require use of surface parking lots to provide more convenient parking for event attendees. This fee structure provides two options for renting parking spaces.

First, departments can choose to buy passes for a discounted rate of $1 each, which would need to be displayed in each event attendee’s vehicle. If departments will be hosting larger events where issuing individual permits is not possible, entire surface lots can be rented for 20 cents per space.
Departments will be assessed these fees but can pass the charges on to external vendors using their space. Units that wish to do this can email parking@udel.edu to consult with Parking Services.
These changes apply to all surface lots, such as the Bob Carpenter Center, Clayton Hall and other lots on-campus, but exclude those that are gated. University-wide events, such as Commencement and Ag Day, will be an exception to this new policy.
