UD Women's Caucus to hold spring membership meeting, special event
1:06 p.m., April 1, 2013--The University of Delaware women’s caucus has announced its spring general meeting and elections to be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at the Development and Alumni Relations main meeting room, 83 E. Main St.
Formed in the spring of 2011, the Women’s Caucus advocates for positive change on issues of concern to women at the University. All faculty and staff who identify as women are invited to attend the spring general meeting to learn about the work of the caucus, voice concerns and participate in setting the agenda for the coming year.

The Women's Caucus board leads the activities of the caucus. Board elections will take place during the spring general meeting. Those who are interested in running for the board should contact Shannon Lennon-Edwards at slennon@udel.edu directly. Nominations are due April 5. Length of service on the board is two years.
In addition, the Women’s Caucus will hold its second annual spring social event, open to the entire University community, from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at Bayard Sharp Hall. The Torch Award, given annually to a woman who has “carried the torch for women's equality,” will be presented during a short ceremony at the event. In 2012, the award was presented to Anne M. Boylan, professor of history. Light refreshments will be served.

The mission statement of the Women’s Caucus is to advocate for positive change on issues of concern to women at the University of Delaware.
