University Facilities begins change from heating to cooling

10:37 a.m., April 15, 2013--As occurs every spring and fall, University of Delaware Facilities is in the process of preparing for the changing seasons, in this case from heating to cooling. 

This year’s changeover will begin Monday, April 15, and will take approximately one week.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

This major operational change is resource intensive and has significant impacts on equipment, so it is only done once per season. 

Unfortunately, this means that in some buildings, space temperatures will be warmer than usual until the changeover is complete. 

Facilities will continue to monitor nighttime low temperatures and extended weather forecasts to ensure that adequate heating is available as needed. Long-range forecasts will determine when the final changeover is made.
