The event will be held in the Alumni Lounge of Perkins University Center, with the panel from 4-5 p.m. and a reception to follow until 6 p.m.

The panel will include three experts in the region who are tuned into the quickly changing landscape of the LGBT movement in Delaware.

The Women’s Caucus has announced the date of its annual Torch Award ceremony, with the award given to a woman who has carried the torch for women’s equity at UD. All UD employees are invited to join the caucus in Bayard Sharp Hall on Tuesday, May 14, from 4-6 p.m.

This year’s Torch Award will be given to Mae Carter. Carter’s accomplishments in this area are second to none, including initiating and chairing the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Program, now a department, and the Commission on the Status of Women at UD.

She also was instrumental in the creation of the Office of Women's Affairs. These programs have improved the climate for women students and staff on campus.
