Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Panel topics ranged from developing a resume that references clubs and organizations with ties to the LGBTQ community to gender transitioning in the workplace.

Panelists shared that employment discrimination based on sexual orientation is only outlawed in 21 states and the District of Columbia, but not throughout the U.S., which should be considered and has implications regarding location.

Students left with a breadth of valuable information including how to research LGBTQ friendly companies through the Corporate Equality Index.
