Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

The National Universities category includes institutions that offer a wide range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs.

In the newest guide, UD is also ranked at 57th among undergraduate engineering schools whose highest degree is a doctorate. UD shares that rank with Auburn, Northeastern and Tufts universities; the universities of Buffalo-SUNY, Iowa, Rochester and Tennessee; and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The guide also includes UD as one of the national universities in its "A-Plus Schools for B Students."  This category highlights institutions where "where spirit and hard work could make all the difference in admission offices."

The 2012 edition of Best Colleges is now available online, and will be on newsstands Sept. 20.
