UD listed among nation's best universities by U.S. News
11:49 a.m., Sept. 14, 2011--The University of Delaware is ranked at 75th among the nation's best universities in U.S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of Best Colleges.
Tied with UD in the 75th position are Baylor University, Colorado School of Mines, Indiana University-Bloomington and the universities of Alabama, California-Santa Cruz and Tulsa.

Doctoral hooding
The National Universities category includes institutions that offer a wide range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs.
In the newest guide, UD is also ranked at 57th among undergraduate engineering schools whose highest degree is a doctorate. UD shares that rank with Auburn, Northeastern and Tufts universities; the universities of Buffalo-SUNY, Iowa, Rochester and Tennessee; and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The guide also includes UD as one of the national universities in its "A-Plus Schools for B Students." This category highlights institutions where "where spirit and hard work could make all the difference in admission offices."
The 2012 edition of Best Colleges is now available online, and will be on newsstands Sept. 20.
