Jean Paul Baptista, Aug. 29, 2011
1:36 p.m., Sept. 1, 2011--Jean Paul Baptista, 25, a 2009 alumnus of the University of Delaware from Clark, N.J., died on Aug. 29.
Mr. Baptista was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and lived there, before moving to Clark 16 years ago. In 2004 he graduated from Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, where he participated in track, soccer and lacrosse. He then attended the University of Delaware and graduated on the Dean's List with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2009.
He was a member of a lacrosse league and an indoor soccer league.
Mr. Baptista was employed as a project manager for Rencor Inc. of Somerville, N.J., for two years.
He is survived by his parents, Alberto and Magda (Escobar) Baptista of Clark; brothers Nicholas Baptista of Elizabeth and Estavan Baptista of Clark; and sister Gabriela Baptista and her husband Oskar Aparicio of Connecticut; nephew, Oskar; and grandmother, Maria Olga Flores of Connecticut.
Visitations will be held from 10 a.m.-noon, Friday, Sept. 2, at the Korean Methodist Church, 717 Loveville Rd., Hockessin, and from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark, N.J.
The funeral service will be private.
