In Memoriam
Susan Clark Lee, Sept. 24, 2011
11:31 a.m., Oct. 3, 2011--Susan Clark Lee, 63, died on Sept. 24. 2011.
She worked at the University of Delaware from 1969 until May of this year, when she retired as director of the University's Office of International Students and Scholars.
At UD, she met her future husband, the late Michael E. Lee.
A 1966 graduate of Brandywine High School, she attended Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and graduated from Widener University in 1969.
Ms. Lee enjoyed traveling, reading, and shopping. She was also known for her love of animals, especially cats, and spent much of her time capturing, neutering and finding homes for unwanted strays and feral cats. Those she was unable to place she kept herself.
She requested that special thanks be expressed to family and friends for their love and support since the death of her husband, with the hope that everyone will take the time to express their love to family and friends and not procrastinate in doing things they want to do.
The family extends deep gratitude to the medical staff of the Abramson Center, University of Pennsylvania Hospital, especially to Dr. Corey Langer and his assistants, Vicki Sherry and Erin, to Dr. Julie Prosseda and her nurses and staff, to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Delaware Hospice, and to the staff and employees of Interim for the compassionate care and loving kindness with which they embraced her.
Ms. Lee is survived by her long-time friend, Elrod Ferreira, several cousins and close friends, her ever-faithful feline companions, and her recently added canine home companion, Lizzie.
Visitors will be received beginning at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 West 13th St., Wilmington. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
