Howard C. Widdoes Sr., Sept. 29, 2011
11:34 a.m., Oct. 3, 2011--Howard C. Widdoes Sr., 62, of Elkton, Md., died at Christiana Hospital on Sept. 29.
Mr. Widdoes, who was the owner of H.C. Landscaping for over 20 years, also worked part-time at the University of Delaware's Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, serving as the grounds person for the UD Botanic Gardens.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Widdoes is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jo Ann Widdoes of Elkton, Md.; sons, Howard C. Widdoes Jr. and his partner, Jim Bennett, of Dover, Del.; and Randy Widdoes and his wife, Erica, of Townsend, Del.; daughter, Amy Jean Carney and her husband, Brian, of Elkton, Md.; and four grandchildren, Colleen Carney, Annabel Carney, Sara Widdoes and Bradley Widdoes. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathryn Ann Evans and her husband, David, and Lois Mae Rosa; and his brother, Frank Widdoes Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main St., Elkton, Md., where friends and family may call one hour before the ceremony. Burial will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills, Pa.
