Adjunct professor elected president of Medical Society of Delaware
11:32 a.m., Nov. 7, 2011--Randeep S. Kahlon, M.D., adjunct associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware, has been elected president of the Medical Society of Delaware for the 2011-2012 term.
Kahlon is a partner board-certified orthopedic surgeon with First State Orthopaedics in Newark, Del.

At UD, he contributes to a course on orthopedics and musculoskeletal imaging, mentors sports and orthopedic residents, and serves as a consultant for the University’s physical therapy clinics.
“Deep has been a valuable member of our teaching faculty for more than a decade,” says department chair Stuart Binder-Macleod, “and he has made sustained contributions to our clinical and DPT programs. We’re excited that he will be leading the Medical Society of Delaware in these challenging times for all of us in health care.”
Kahlon’s extensive experience ranges from being a team doctor for the Cleveland Indians to volunteering his time as a surgeon in Haiti following the devastating earthquake of 2010.
About Randeep Kahlon
Randeep Kahlon earned his undergraduate degree at Boston University and his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
His specialties include hand and upper extremity surgery, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, microvascular surgery and trauma.
In 2003, Kahlon was named Delaware’s Physician of the Year by the Delaware chapter of the American College of Surgeons and, in 2005, he received the Medical Society of Delaware’s Young Physician Award.
In addition to his new appointment as Medical Society of Delaware president, Kahlon is a member of the board of directors of the Arthritis Foundation for the Mid-Atlantic Region; director of orthopedic education and research at Christiana Care Health System; a past board member and volunteer of the Delaware Medical Relief Team for Haiti; and a past board member of the Delaware Health Information Network.
Kahlon is also on the teaching staff in the departments of Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine at Christiana Care.
