UD Collegiate Figure Skating Team glides to gold at Cornell

1:22 p.m., Nov. 21, 2011--The reigning intercollegiate national champion University of Delaware Collegiate Figure Skating Team (UDCFST) took first place at the Cornell University Collegiate Competition, the first intercollegiate competition of the season, on Saturday, Nov. 5.

UDCFST scored 118 points overall at Cornell, edging out their top competitors, Boston University and Dartmouth College, by 17.5 points.

Unsung Hero

The One Love Foundation has announced that University of Delaware men's lacrosse standout Elijah Conte has been selected as a winner of the 2016 YRL Unsung Hero Award.

“I believe our team really worked together and performed to the best of their abilities at our first competition,” said team president Marissa Marschall.  “Because our team is so supportive of each and every member and is truly dedicated to the sport, I believe that we will continue on a journey of success.  This win at Cornell University gave the team motivation to continue on the same path.  This, combined with our team's unwavering dedication, will allow our team to reach their full potential.  I look forward to the competitions to come in spring semester.”

The team’s next competition will be at MIT in February, which will determine if they qualify for nationals in the spring.  UDCFST will also be host to a competition in March.
