Sophomores can get new shirts for old at Laird-a-palooza

12:40 p.m., May 10, 2012--Members of the Class of 2014 can show their school spirit and update their wardrobes at the same time through a special sophomore class T-shirt swap, scheduled during this year's Laird-a-palooza, scheduled on Saturday, May 12, on the Independence turf.

The UD Alumni Association (UDAA) and the Office of Alumni Relations will be at the event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., proudly displaying the Class of 2014 banner. The first 1,500 sophomores who visit the UDAA area and show their Blue Hens Forever pride by bringing a T-shirt from another college or university -- or just a shirt they no long want -- will receive a Class of 2014 shirt from the UDAA. All shirts collected at the event will be donated to charity.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.
