University Student Centers celebrate students' heritage

TEXT SIZE

2:05 p.m., March 13, 2012--Looking upward in either Trabant University Center or Perkins Student Center, one can observe more than 100 brightly colored flags hanging proudly from the ceilings. The display, initiated in 2009, celebrates the cultural diversity of University of Delaware students.

This year, 133 flags were hung to symbolize the home countries of UD’s current student population. The display is changed annually, following updated statistics from the UD Registrar’s Office, and is typically changed following Homecoming festivities. UD’s latest freshmen class added 25 nations to the collection.
