Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Wilmington announces summer activities


10:10 a.m., June 19, 2012--Adults 50 and over can expand their horizons with their peers this summer with courses at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Wilmington.

Nearly 50 unique and interesting courses will be offered from July 10 to Aug. 2 -- without tests or grades. Attendees can discover new friends while exploring interests in fashion and art, meditation, history, literature and languages  -- even baseball, all in a relaxed atmosphere situated next to the University’s Goodstay Garden.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

Participants pay an $80 registration fee for the summer session, which allows them to take up to six classes.

Those registered for the summer can also attend two special sessions.  On Wednesday, July 11, Peter Spiers, author of Master Class: Living Longer, Stronger and Happier, will speak informally on topics related to aging successfully. On Thursday, July 12, Robert Hart will describe his World War II experience aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Lake Champlain.  Both presentations start at 12:30 p.m.

Classes are held from 9 a.m.-noon, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from July 10 – Aug. 2.  All sessions are held in Arsht Hall on UD's Wilmington Campus, 2700 Pennsylvania Avenue (across from Tower Hill School).
