Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

This year’s series focuses on “Leadership, Service and Policy,” and Congressman John Carney, an alumnus of the master's in public administration program, delivered the first lecture on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Edward Freel, a policy scientist in the Institute for Public Administration, calls the series “an opportunity to meet, hear from and interact with practitioners and academics in a range of different issue areas.”

The lecture series consists of seven events:

  • Feb 21: U.S. Rep. John C. Carney, 5 p.m., 206 Kirkbride Hall.
