1:18 p.m., Feb. 20, 2012--Having received more than 350 Facebook "likes" in less than one week, Dan and Kelly Young were named the 2012 University of Delaware Lovebirds.

The contest, hosted by the UD Office of Alumni Relations on its Facebook page, featured photos posted by Double Dels -- married couples who are UD alumni -- along with a story of how they met.

Reviresco June run

UD ROTC cadets will run from New York City to Miami this month to raise awareness about veterans' affairs.

All couples were encouraged to post their photos on the UD Office of Alumni Relations Facebook wall and the Double Dels with the most popular photo were named the winner. Photo popularity was determined by the number of “likes” each photo received.

This year's contest saw 48 photos posted and over 1,800 total likes in less than a week.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the contest, the Office of Alumni Relations will award prizes to the top three Double Dels.

The Youngs, first place winners, met while Dan, a 1997 UD graduate, was a bouncer at Grotto's and Kelly, a 2000 graduate, was in his words a "notorious" patron.

Second place winners are Megan Howey and Melissa Clark, both 2000 graduates, and third place winners are Melissa and Archie Heller, both 2005 graduates.
