UD Collegiate Figure Skating Team wins, prepares to defend national title

11:31 a.m., April 16, 2012--The University of Delaware Collegiate Figure Skating Team (UDCFST) took first place at the UD Intercollegiate Competition last month, winning its sixth consecutive competition.

The team's winning streak dates back to the fall of 2010, and includes last year’s national championships.

Unsung Hero

The One Love Foundation has announced that University of Delaware men's lacrosse standout Elijah Conte has been selected as a winner of the 2016 YRL Unsung Hero Award.

UDCFST scored a total of 120.5 points in the March event, defeating Dartmouth University and Boston College, to become this year’s undefeated East Coast intercollegiate champions.

"Our team is tremendously dedicated and strives to improve as a team,” said UDCFST President Marissa Marschall. “We are blessed with a very talented team this year and I believe, with hard work, we have a strong chance to win our second national title."

The team will be traveling to Colorado College on April 21-22 to compete at this year’s intercollegiate nationals, and looking to defend its title as national champion. The team was featured in a U.S. Figure Skating blog.
