UD Alumni Association partner offers moving and storage services
3:55 p.m., April 11, 2012--The University of Delaware Alumni Association has teamed up with laundry and storage service provider Lazybones to offer discounts to students and to raise funds for the association, which provides funding and support for a variety of UD alumni-based events and awards. Under the agreement, Lazybones will donate 10 percent of fees to the UD Alumni Association.
Lazybones is offering a “print your own labels” discount, which saves students $3 per item if they print their own storage labels using Lazybones’ template.
“We are happy to partner with Lazybones because they offer very reliable service, and this agreement will support our student and alumni programs,” said Lauren Murray Simione, assistant director of Alumni Relations at the University.
Lazybones provides low-cost laundry and storage to students living on and off campus in the Newark area. The company stores furniture, microwaves, plastic bins, fans, winter clothes and more, saving students from the stress and cost of moving items home. In fact, Lazybones offers a store-and-wash service for winter clothes during the off-season, freeing up space in students’ dorms and apartments.
“For our storage service, size, not weight, matters,” says Stu Sherman, president of the Newark branch of Lazybones. “There are no delivery fees or monthly storage fees, and our rates are very affordable. We will store your possessions and we’ll deliver them back anytime you want.”
One of Lazybones’ satisfied customers is Bob Zuckerman, whose daughter, Jennifer, is a UD student. “They moved and stored all the furniture and boxes,” he said. “Plus, they helped load Jennifer’s car with the heavy TV and other things she was bringing home for the summer. I was very grateful for that. In the fall, they met her on time at her new apartment and delivered everything back in great shape. I would highly recommend Lazybones.”
Established in 1993, Lazybones offers laundry and storage services in college communities from Wisconsin to Boston and Newark. Last year, Lazybones moved and stored over 3,000 students between the five branches.
