5:25 p.m., Sept. 16, 2010----The University of Delaware Athletics Department has announced the first-ever Future Hens Club.
The Future Hens Club offers youth in 8th grade or younger an opportunity to join in the excitement of Blue Hens athletics with this special membership full of behind the scenes fun.
Each member receives an official Future Hens Club membership card, an official Future Hens Club T-shirt, free admission to all UD Olympic sports and select football, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball games, and other great surprises throughout the year.
Additionally, each member will be invited to exclusive Future Hens events, including the first fun-filled Pizza Party to be held Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Athletic Complex between the 1 p.m. field hockey match and 2:30 p.m. women's soccer game.
As part of the day's activities, Future Hens will have the opportunity to visit with YoUDee, enjoy bounce house fun and attend team autograph sessions immediately following both the field hockey match and the women's soccer game.
Annual membership dues are $20 per youth. A special discounted rate of $15 is available to children of UDAF Blue Hen Club members and UD Alumni Association members. Completed membership applications with payments will also be accepted at the Future Hens area in the pre-game Fan Zone at Delaware Stadium on Saturday night from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the start of the football game.
